"It's all about finishing. Five hours, five years, whatever it takes. Marathons have been a consistent part of my life for twenty-five years. Plan for, train for, get to, get done, get home. Goals and accomplishments, medals and places, states and cities, countries and courage. This was just one more finish line; a marathon of education."

"The
starting line of a marathon is an interesting study. All types
and kinds of people, a wide variety of pseudo humor, and myriad
fascinating stories. We begin as a group of runners and finish
as a family. People from everywhere, often veterans that are running
the fifty states and DC for the second or third time! (I am still
on my first time around, on state thirty-one with this one.) One
of the participants carried a huge POW flag the whole way, I was
happy just to make it with my water bottle."
